2010/01/20 – Toronto, ON - ALA Mid-Winter Conference
The ALA (American Library Association) Conference is one of the highlight events of the year for the library community. This year’s conference continued the tradition of being a great success, with libraries from across the nation attending. The breakout sessions, as always, were full of useful information and were well attended. This year’s conference saw technology be the definite focus.
Library Information Systems continue to expand their options and development into automation. Companies like EnvisionWare continue their integration with the LIS, offering more automation in their continuing march toward modernizing public libraries.
Copy/Control and Print Management systems and options were front and center on the convention floor in many booths. Comprise demonstrated a new kiosk loader used with their SAM product.
The next conference is the Public Library Association in March 2010, followed by the American Library Association annual convention in June 2010.
