2008/08/21 - Toronto, ITC Systems introduce the 1500 Series Magnetic Card Reader

In an effort to better serve our customers we have released a new card reader to replace models 1010 and 1015. The 1500 card reader is an upgrade to our previous models; it reads Stored Value Magnetic Stripe Cards, Credit Cards and Store “Gift Cards”. The 1500 Series has the functionality to control up to 3 separate applications, such as copy/print/fax with one reader. Communication to a back end (for transaction processing, receipts and reporting) can be accomplished through a Radio Frequency gateway, no more hardwiring!

Sharp Electronics Corporation has partnered with ITC Systems to release a POS terminal aimed to shorten that wait time. Sharp’s new UP-3500 POS cash register system with ITC Systems’ software has been designed to speed up transactions for quick-serve restaurants and cafeterias by integrating the industry’s fastest magnetic card reader.


2008/05/08 - St. Louis, Card Technology helps reduce Vending Machine Theft

According to the US Department of Justice, over 35,000 petty theft crimes are reported in America every day. Vending machines and Unattended Point of Sale Machines are easy targets for these attacks, because they are in fact, unattended. Thieves can pry the doors open and empty the machine of its products, and more importantly, its money. Vending operators lose anywhere from $50 to $1000 per incident; they need to stay one step ahead of the criminals to prevent further losses.

Start-up communications company, VideoKall Inc. announced today that it has been working in stealth mode for some time with strategic partners on a video payphone-based Electronic Fund Transfer service called VideoKall for personal use and for migrant workers who have no bank accounts. The company chose to go public this week as their US and International patents pending for the VideoKall technology are now due for publication by the US Patent Office.
