Facility Manager tracks both serialized and non-serialized equipment. Expensive equipment (e.g. computer or audio visual equipment) often has a unique serial number available. When serialized equipment is loaned/rented or returned its serial number is recorded. The availability and location of serialized items can tracked at any given moment. Non-serialized equipment is tracked by category.
